BIG MOM LIFESPAN REMOVAL WEAKNESS – Theory

If not all, most of the devil fruits probably have weaknesses just like the devil fruit of Enel which has the weakness of Rubber, Moriah’s shadows whose weakness is salt, Perona’s Horo Horo no Mi’s power that can easily defeat strong opponents in just one strike using the negative hallows which is seemingly impossible to overcome or resist no matter how hardened one’s spirit is but its doesn’t have any effect to anyone who is already originally pessimistic about themselves just like Usopp.

In my opinion the weakness of Big Mom’s lifespan removal technique is Strong Will to Live!

Mama’s lifespan removal technique will not work to those people who have strong will to live, in fact one of her victim was able to live because he shows no fear and strong will to live, I’m talking about my man Pedro, whose 50 years of lifespan was took by Big Mom but still able to live.

Look at this panel

Despite Pedro pulled his eye off and threatened by Big Mom to take away his lifespan that can cause his death he still not cower instead he showed his unwavering spirit to live which Big Mom saw and she said she’ll only take 50 years of his lifespan but what is interesting for me is she quickly added the word “GO ON LIVE”. On that point Big Mom already knew that Pedro will not gonna die because her lifespan removal power didn’t work to him because of his strong will to live.

The soul is the spiritual part of a person that is believe to give life to the body so if someone soul is strong enough and doesn’t fear to die Big Mom’s lifespan removal will not gonna work to him.

Let’s look another panel

Muscat died because he cowered and ran away because he was so afraid to die.

The one person who can fight Big Mom without fearing that his lifespan might take away is Luffy.

In chapter two it already shows that he’s not afraid to die as along as his fighting for his dream

and probably the most popular event that shows he is not really scared to die was in Rogue town when buggy tried to execute him in the execution platform and still he’s still manage to smile..

What do you guys think about Big mom’s weakness?

THE WILL OF D.

Hello guys I’m gonna make a new theory on one of the greatest mysteries of One Piece, “The Will of D”.

There exist many people in the world that seem to carry this initial and some of them try to hide it and some not, but it’s obviously an important thing. Osa said in an SBS that we must read the D on Luffy’s name simply as Di and he would explain it latter what that was. But why D? What does it stand for?

Well we know that there used to exist an Ancient Kingdom 800 years ago:

As Prof. Clover told us there was this quite prosperous Kingdom called The Great Kingdom ( Kyodai na Oukoku) and the whitespread idea is that the D have a sort of relation to this kingdom by blood or fate and they are Descendants of the kingdom carrying the will of the King (and surely Emperor-King Haki is involved somehow in that).

But why the letter D? Well I believe it stands for a japanese word: Daiou! Why Daiou? Well Daiou in japanese means excatly Great King! So that D sognifies the Will of a King. But it gets even better:

D’ have been called many names Danger, Devils, Natural enemy of God by WN and Gorosei. And there is quite a famous entity in Japan known as King Enma or Enma Daiou ( 閻魔大王 ). This figure is the great king of Hell in Budhist and hindu mythology who presides over the judgement of Hell and is always delicted with red face a beard and with offical clothes and a crown with the kanji for King (王). So this goes along with the fact the D are called Devils, and Gods Natural Enemy that are Tenryubitou.

Also one more curious thing, Doffy’s brother Rosinante told him that in Marijeoa WN used to tell their children that if they don’ behave themselves the D will come to eat them up.

Well guess what :D “If you lie, Lord Enma will pull out your tongue” (嘘をつけばと閻魔様に舌を抜かれる Uso o tsukeba to enmasama ni shita o nukareru?) is a superstition in Japan often told to scare children into telling the truth. Fitting isn’ it ;)

So to conclude this short idea we have these great people like Roger and Luffy that will carry the king’s will : Gol Daiou Roger and Monkey Daiou Luffy, who are Great Kings themselves: The Pirate King!

THE TRUTH ABOUT THE ONE PIECE AND HOW IT’LL SHAKE THE FOUNDATIONS OF THE WORLD!

So one of the biggest mysteries of One Piece is well…the One Piece. The treasure itself. What is it? Is it a tangible object? Is it an idea? Is it the Rio Poneglyph? All of these could be valid answers, but I have a better proposition that ties into the bigger story of the series.

I’d like to reference the Inherted Will theory, possibly THE most famous One Piece theory ever crafted. This theory states that the One Piece is a plan to destroy the Red Line, which is a distinct and strong possibility due to the amount of foreshadowing the series has built up to the ultimate destruction of the Red Line. Laboon wants to destroy it to get to his family, the great red snake comments from Dory and Broggy that Joy_Boy_Theories pointed out in one of his videos, and etc. There’s definitely a lot of problems in the One Piece world that is primarily garnered by the division the Red Line brings to the seas. How do I think this itself is the One Piece? It isn’t out of the realm of possibility, however it fails to cover many things. How does destroying the Red Line actually tie into the history of the Celestial Dragons? How does it tie into the Will of D.? There’s a lot of holes here that need to be covered, and I think I have a solution.

While it’s obvious the destruction of the Red Line might be an inevitability. Back in Fishman Island, Madam Shirley distinctly predicted that Luffy would destroy Fishman Island. This could imply the destruction of the Red Line would have an adverse affect on Fishman Island as well, but due to Joy Boy’s dream of putting the Fishmen on land, I doubt by the time an event like this occurs it would be an issue for the fishmen and mermaids of Fishman Island. However while this might be what the One Piece by and large creates a catalyst for, I do not think this is the One Piece itself. Rather, this might be a “Dream” from another era, another time, recorded on the Rio Poneglyph. Why?

Well, the big issue here is that, simply put, if Luffy were to do this, it would really establish him as a criminal of the greatest caliber in the world. There really wouldn’t be any good way to spin the destruction of the Red Line due to the amount of innocent people that would die from it. Also, Luffy is someone that I feel would not want to take such a course of action in a way that would paint him as someone that massacres thousands upon thousands of people. Luffy wants to be a pirate, but he has no desire to do evil deeds and has always made due doing what he felt was right even in the most complex of situations.

For Luffy to take such an extreme decision, I feel like there needs to be infallible proof to him that such a thing would be a just action. Luffy can act irrationally at times, but he ultimately boils down to a simple idea. He isn’t just going to listen to some old text and assume everything at face value. Something, somewhere, is going to show him a definitive fact that ultimately proves destroying the Red Line is necessary.

This, I feel, is what the One Piece is going to be. The One Piece is going to be the “one piece” of evidence to show that the 20 Kingdoms were in the wrong for destroying the Ancient Kingdom. It won’t be a collection of things, a plan, an idea, but infallible proof that the Ancient Kingdom was wronged by the 20 Kingdoms that later became the World Government. Why do I think this? There’s many reasons, but here’s what I’ve narrowed down to:

1. The Implication of what finding the One Piece and/or becoming Pirate King will do the the One Piece world.

Both Whitebeard and Doflamingo have made it clear that whenever One Piece is found, the entire world is going to be shaken up. Doflamingo specifically mentioned how it’ll affect the Celestial Dragons. I think this is a distinct clue that the One Piece is truly something that is going to turn the entire perspective of the world upside down.

2. The Doflamingo Family migrating to Mariejois.

What’s interesting about this is that for some unknown reason, the Doflamingo outright left the Kingdom of Dressrosa to move into Mariejois with the other Celestial Dragons. This implies that the Celestial Dragons did not previously inhabit Mariejois which could mean two things: They took over Mariejois from another group of people (possibly the D. Clan), or they established Mariejois themselves as a new capital. However I think if the destruction of the Red Line is one of the ultimate goals in the series, I do not think either one is really a clear-cut answer to this situation and I’ll explain why later on.

3. Whitebeard’s resolve to make Ace the Pirate King

Whitebeard was very clearly not interested in the One Piece, even though Roger told him everything about it. However him pushing Ace forward towards this goal implies that it’s very likely only people of the D. Clan can obtain the One Piece, or they’re “supposed” to get the One Piece. This implies heavily that the D. Clan and the One Piece are directly connected to each other in various ways, as well as the implication of Blackbeard being a blacksheep of the D. Clan.

So with this, what is the One Piece if it’s infallible evidence that the 20 Kingdoms were wrong? Well since the majority of people in the One Piece world probably isn’t even aware of the 20 Kingdoms or any sort of tidbit about the True History. So what could it be? I have an answer. One Piece is a Terraforming Machine.

First, let’s observe the name of it. One Piece. One Peace. Won Peace. One Piece of Evidence. One Piece of Land.

As we all know, One Piece is a series where things such as weather abnormalities are a common element. There’s clearly something very wrong with the structure of the One Piece world. The islands have weird magnetic pulls with each other for example that pretty much forces people to traverse certain paths. I feel like, however, there’s a specific reason for this. At one point, all of these islands were one, massive landmass, but due to an event in the past, this is no more. I think the One Piece world was already terraformed, once, by the “Gods.”

Now what I’m about to say here, is purely speculation on my part, but it ties into everything I’ve been discussing here. So without further ado.
_______________

One day on a peaceful planet in the Prehistoric Era of the Dinosaurs, “Gods” from the Moon descended upon the Earth. Using a terraforming machine to alter the planet for their own habitat, perhaps to form thicker clouds for them to live on, they flooded the entire world in a Great Deluge The survivors of this Great Deluge were the Sea Kings, the animals that once roamed the planet forced to become sea dwellers and carry on a lineage that still lingers till this day. The survivors that didn’t need to change, like the giant elephants, are the only properly living remnants of such a world existing. This terraforming machine they used to mold the world is what was eventually turned into what is now the “One Piece.” In this case, it was One Piece of Sea.

This Great Deluge affected early humans as well. Some evolved into Minks, some into Fishmen, and various other tribes. Humans themselves however still persisted, unbeknownst of what caused such a dynamic shift that caused the entire world to be flooded, and continued living for thousands upon thousands of years.

Eventually, a ruling human body was established. This was the Ancient Kingdom, and their main HQ was Mariejois. The Ancient Kingdom operated under a lawful, but largely segmented rule over the world similar to our own in real life. At this point, a lot of Kingdoms have taken it upon themselves to enslave other races like the Dwarves and Fishmen, but the Ancient Kingdom wanted none of that and actively enforced rules to prevent this in a very feudal, aggressive, but effective system. These enforcers were what was known as the D. Clan, servants of King Joy Boy of Mariejois. Joy Boy also housed the Devil Fruit tree, which produced fruits that gave people extraordinary powers and became the “Treasure of Mariejois.”

This policing of the world angered various people of power, and the alliance between the 20 Kingdoms was established in secret. Eventually, these 20 Kingdoms found the terraforming machine used by the “Gods” told of in ancient tradition, calling it the “One Piece” and initiating a plan to enforce an iron grip over the world itself by seizing Mariejois and raising it to higher ground. Believing themselves to be doing God’s will, and labeling the Ancient Kingdom as being “Devils” due to using Devil Fruits (possibly coining the term themselves as propaganda), they innated this plan with great pride and belief they’re genuinely in the right.

A war occurred between the 20 Kingdoms and the Ancient Kingdom. The 20 Kingdoms created a warship known as Pluton to attack Mariejois, and the Ancient Kingdom used Poseidon to command the Sea Kings to attack the advancing fleets. Suddenly, however, a third party got involved: The Gods themselves! The Sky races descended upon the world and unleashed Uranus, a massive dragon that leveled out the entire battlefield with it’s power. Unfortunately for the Ancient Kingdom, the 20 Kingdoms were larger in number and scope, and having more survivors, they seized Mariejois and used the One Piece to create a MASSIVE landmass that segments the world into four seas. Joy Boy was defeated, however he survived the war alongside the D. Clan and they spread across the seas hoping that one day, they might appear again and bring justice to the wrong-doing the 20 Kingdoms did to the Ancient Kingdom.

What was Joy Boy’s dream? He wanted to take back his land, the Land of Mariejois. It belongs to the D. Clan, not to the Celestial Dragons. Joy Boy secluded himself at a mysterious island he dubbed Raftel, a place that is extremely difficult to get to unless you can decipher a series of Poneglyphs he distributed amongst the allies of the Ancient Kingdom.

Hundreds of years later, Gol D. Roger found the “One Piece” as well as learned the True History. He obtains Uranus, or the egg that becomes Uranus, but it doesn’t ever hatch in his lifetime and he’s never able to fulfill Joy Boy’s dream due to his illness. To prevent the abuse of One Piece, Gol D. Roger places it in a place only he’s ever been to in his era: Raftel.

_______________

With this speculatory theory in mind, if this is indeed what the “One Piece” is, Luffy as well can fulfill his dream of becoming Pirate King. According to Luffy, being the Pirate King means you’re the “freest man in the world” and I think if Luffy obtained a device that gave him complete control over the land AND the sea, he can truly be considered the absolute freest man without any doubt.

LUCKY ROO HAS NO DEVIL FRUIT BUT DOES HAVE AN INSANE POWER

Many people have come to speculate over what Lucky’s devil fruit is; a majority of this speculation often revolves around how Lucky easily shot a bandit in Foosha Village. These speculations also say that it was because of Lucky that Shanks got to Marineford so quickly and that Lucky’s power is a time/teleportation/speed related devil fruit. However i highly doubt this is the case.

WHY?

The main reason i doubt Lucky has a DF is because of this: The Red Hair Pirates as a whole don’t have many DF users. How did I reach this conclusion? Well mainly because of this:

  • Shanks has no DF
  • Rayleigh has no DF, and rather was a haki master
  • None of the Roger Pirates willingly wanted a DF
  • Roger most likely had no DF and was most likely a haki master
  • The Red Hair Pirates didn’t want a DF(no one wanted the gomu gomu no mi?)

As i just stated; none of the Roger Pirates wanted a DF, and Rayleigh himself had no DF, most of the Roger Pirates were haki masters. And as we all know, Shanks was greatly inspired by Roger and Rayleigh. So if the Roger crew preferred haki over DFs, then we can assume Shanks did as well. This can be seen as Shanks himself has no DF and rather is a haki master. This leads me to reach the conclusion that Shanks was against his crew eating DFs, and rather persuaded them to master haki, as he knew from experience how strong haki users like Rayleigh and Roger were. This is the main reason why i don’t believe Lucky Roo has a DF; because if Shanks knew DF users were weaker than haki users, i don’t believe he would allow one of the strongest members of his crew to eat a DF. Furthermore; now that we are in the new world, almost every pirate has a DF. This is one of the reasons i believe that Lucky and the Red Hairs should not be DF users; because they would actually be stronger if they were pure haki users in the midst of DF users.

WHAT IS LUCKY ROO’S POWER

Well even though i don’t think lucky has a DF, I do believe he has a very powerful technique which gives him tremendous power in battle. What is that technique? Life Return; I believe the reason why Lucky Roo eats so much is because he is storing energy for a battle. As you know, life return gives you the ability to control your body; this can be used to turn fat into muscle, or just turn fat into energy. So here’s how i believe Lucky’s body actually looks like
[IMG]
However, Lucky covers that sexy body with about 200-300 pounds of fat. When Lucky is in a battle he uses Life Return to greatly speed up his metabolism; when he does this, he will be converting all his fat into ATP(energy). With that much energy combined with insane haki power, Lucky will literally be able to smash islands with the tip of his fingers. This power when used in action would look like a stronger version of Gear2; maybe something like this
[IMG]
When Lucky killed the bandit in Foosha Village he just used a “lite” version of this technique
*****************************************

HOW DID SHANKS GET TO MARINEFORD?

Now many people say that Lucky has a DF because they believe that Lucky was the reason why Shanks got to Marineford quickly; however i have a different explanation. I believe the reason why Shanks got to Marineford quickly is this:

  • Shanks’ haki is so powerful that he can control the wind and the sea; by using this power Shanks created an extremely fast current from the New World to Marineford.

******************************

CONCLUSION
  • The Red Hair Pirates are mostly haki users; therefore Lucky Roo has no devil fruit
  • Rather than a devil fruit, Lucky uses Life Return to instantly metabolize 200+ pounds of fat, this gives him powers similar to might guy and Gear 2
  • The reason why Shanks got to Marineford wasn’t because of a devil fruit but rather a haki created current

Fated Fight BROOK vs APOO – Theory

Battle of the world’s greatest musician versus a living instrument.

Now for those of you caught up you know that Apoo is currently apart of Kaido’s crew. After planning to take down Shanks and being interrupted by Kaido apparently the Kid Alliance got their asses handed to them. Kid is sitting in a dungeon captured by Kaido.

I assume Kid fought and had Killer escape with his crew. Hawkins could be with Killer or Kaido depending on what his cards told him to do. Apoo most likely folded up and said “Kaido Senpai! I’m yours spare me!” so Kaido did.

Now I’ve seen a lot of random match ups for Wano some good some well we won’t talk about those. I feel like this match up makes the most sense and after all Brook has shown in Whole Cake Island fighting a Supernova would be the perfect test of his strength. With Apoo being a Beast Pirate the match up seems the most obvious for Wano. The world’s greatest musician vs a human instrument can’t find a better match up than that. On top of all that Brook spent the timeskip with members of the long arm tribe #Foreshadow?

Powers & Abilities

Scratchmen Apoo The Sea Roar

Honestly both of these guys are pretty powerful but let’s start with Scratchmen Apoo the most slept on Supernova! Apoo’s devil fruit has yet to be named but it’s hands down the MOST POWER DEVIL FRUIT OF ANY SUPERNOVA. Now I’m sure you’re all calling me stupid I assume most people think Law has the most powerful devil fruit. Apoo and Law have very similar powers in the sense that they can both cause damage from a distance cutting their opponents but the major difference between them is that Law’s ability is not as dangerous and extremely limited. Apoo can cut you from a distance just like Law but Law’s cuts are injuries & Apoo isn’t held back by a room. Apoo’s powers seemingly work through sound waves. He can also cause explosions with his power and I’m sure do much more depending on the instrument he uses.
0237d926dce207fa0489af938f4b0b4f9356d695_hq.gif
He’s the only Supernova to land a hit on Kizaru saving Hawkins in the process. He also took a hit from Kizaru and managed to escape Sabody so he’s pretty durable.

As for haki we’ve yet to see if Apoo has it yet since we haven’t seen him fight post timeskip.

All Bones Brook aka Soul King

Now Brook is a musician an expert swordsman and the eater of the Revive Revive fruit. Brook has a lot of powers he is a great swordsman with an insanely fast battōujustu(the act of attacking by quickly unsheathing ones sword). Often he defeats enemies so quickly they don’t realize they’ve lost till he’s put his sword away.

On top of his battōujutsu and sword style Brook also has an elemental ability that being his Ice powers he uses in conjunction with his swordsmanship. It’s still not fully explained how he obtained this power but I assume it’s a form of elemental haki.

Finally we have his Devilfruit abilities he uses in conjunction with his musical ability. Brook uses music to control a persons mind and soul. He is indeed the Soul King and his power is mighty. All in all After typing this Brook is even more badass than I thought lol.
9fce51aa093ca45d2fb0d3f180fb20fdfcfcbd17_hq.gif

As for Brook he hasn’t shown any haki yet but I believe he’ll unlock Armament because he’s a swordsman and be known as Black Bones Brook

Conclusion

In conclusion I believe Brook and Apoo will fight in Wano. It’ll be a battle of the one man bands. Now the only object I imagine for this fight is that people will say “Brook can’t be on the level of a Supernova”. But really I think Brook will have the same type of trump card with Apoo like he had with Big Mom where instead of it being his devilfruit this time it’s his musical prowess. Brook being an expert musician and Apoo’s powers being sound and music based, I believe he has the best chance of predicting as well as countering Apoo’s moves. The fight of course won’t be easy but most fights for the Strawhats aren’t(unless you’re Zoro) so of course he’ll struggle for a win.

In the end I think Brook will win but they will end the fight as friends like Sanji and Bon Clay. Apoo is a Supernova that didn’t plan to be under a Yonko so I doubt he’ll be defeated and run back to Kaido. Also with Luffy’s well documented love of musicians I can’t see Luffy not wanting to be friends with Apoo. Also we know Brook has a history with the long arm tribe from the timeskip so maybe Brook knows Apoo’s family? But yea that’s it for my theory/prediction hope you all enjoyed

VS 4 EMPERORS SAGA : PARALLELS ON EACH ARCS

Let me show you an idea I’m developing since some time!

We are actually in the Saga named “VS YONKO
Yonko means “4 Emperors”, so it’s the Saga “VS 4 Emperors“.

I believe that, in this Saga we have 4 arcs involving the Straw Hats. + 1 one wild arc.
– Whole Cake
– Rêverie (wild arc : without Straw Hats or only Robin)
– Wano
– Elbaf
– Raftel
or other

You probably all know well the Theory Formula of 4 Straw Hats by seas, so let me show you what I think about these 4 arcs :

The actual Totland arc is focusing mainly on Sanji in the Straw Hats. 2016 was “the Year of Sanji”.
Wano arc will most likely focus on Zoro.
Elbaf arc will obviously focus on Usopp.

This is 3 of the 4 first recruited people in the crew. Recruited in East Blue.
By this, I believe the arc after Elbaf, probably Raftel arc, will focus on Nami.

But, what about the other actual Straw Hats ?
Well, I think these 4 arcs have a 2nd character focus, more subtle, yep, it’s focusing on the second part of the crew, the people recruited in Paradise.
Even if Nami and Chopper are also present and useful in WCI arc, it focuses a lot on Brook.
He is the “Soul King” and has a crucial role in this arc thanks to his Devil Fruit.
He is the one who collected the Poneglyphs copies. One of the two original missions of the arcs, the other one being the rescue of Sanji.
We also have to see some Underground Brokers, possibly people from West Blue since Capone Bege has ties from there, but also Brook!!
Brook also knows about the Vinsmoke Family.
The main antagonist of the arc is the Yonko Big Mom.

Wano arc will, as many know/hope, focus on Zoro.
But I also think that Chopper will have a big role there.
Mainly because he is a Zoan, the Human Zoan. His knowledge of Rumble Ball and his medical expertise should be useful about Smiles.
The antagonist is Kaido.

Elbaf arc will focus on Usopp for sure. One of the strongest arguments for me is that Usopp will meet Yasopp there.
But what about Franky ?
I think the Pluton’s plot will take place overthere. We should also meet Vegapunk, the great scientist. And what if this guy is Franky’s father ?
I think this arc will be linked with the Yonko Shanks.

Then, next arc, IMO it will be Raftel (or a battle in the sea more precisely).
Nami and Robin are the keys in the crew to really find the One Piece, so this last arc before to be Pirate King might focus on them as Straw Hats.
Also remember what the Dukes said to Robin that she’s very precious to the crew and could risk a kidnaping (–> Blackbeard).

In each of these 4 arcs, a new nakama is going to join if we follow the Formula of the 4 Straw Hats by sea. The one who is joining in Totland arc is Jinbe.

And to end this,
I think the 4 Arcs of the Yonko Saga have some similarities with the 4 arcs before it, in the same order.

1) FI / WCI : Races thematic / Tamate Box / Alliances / Jinbe / Sanji’s blood plot / Big Mom pirates / Luffy declaring war to BM
2) Punk Hazard / Wano : Island half fire/half ice (Wano will probably have different climatic islands) / Smiles introducing / Caesar Clown role / Zoro beast / Kiemon and Momo roles / Yokai inspirations / Law-Luffy alliance against Kaido
3) Dressrosa / Elbaf : Usopp role with dwarfs / Hajrudin / Grand Fleet / Luffy Thor Elephant Gun / Kid’s alliances for Shanks / Burgess / Revo
4) Zou / Raftel (or Battle in Sea) : Revelations arc / 1st Road Poneglyph plot / Floating Vessel / Blackbeard news (Payback war) / Robin role / Nami navigation’s role

I also think these arcs will parallels on arcs before Time-Skip for sure :
WCI // some things of Enies Lobby + many things of Thriller Bark
Wano // some things of Thriller Bark + many things of Enies Lobby
Elbaf // Shabondy + Amazon Lily ?
Raftel // Impel Down ?
Final War // Marineford

The Saga after this one should be “VS World Government” and should focus on Luffy (maybe his meeting with Dragon…)

So,
I hope you liked it and like the idea about the focus on each Nakama in the next arcs.

Thank you for reading! :)

HOW BLACKBEARD PIRATES STEAL DEVIL FRUITS

Watching OP anime episode 740, I remembered that Jesus Burgess jumps around (this guy doesn’t know how to walk) with some sort of devil fruit bag, or maybe just an ordinary bag but with some pattern reference to devil fruits. Kind of obvious but this is probably where he stores his stolen devil fruits.
It is no secret that the Blackbeard pirates are on a mission to gather devil fruits, thus why Burgess was even on Dressrosa in the first place – in order to gain the Mera Mera no Mi; and Blackbeard himself has shown knowledge of how to steal a devil fruit when he did the unthinkable and murdered a nakama when serving under Whitebeard all those years ago.
Now it hasn’t been confirmed whether Blackbeard had to kill in order to gain the fruit, but this seems the most likely scenario. Devil fruits reappear from a nearby fruit when the current user dies, as we discovered on Punk Hazard or wherever the hell we discovered this.
This is probably why Burgess had his knife out when trying to kill Luffy in one quick action, and this isn’t the first time we’ve seen this referenced with Blackbeard associates.
[IMG]Now this is where the bag comes into play. That bag that we see again in the above photo is most probably full of normal fruit, maybe apples (i believe), although I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a mix or maybe even cherries as a reference to Blackbeard himself (he loves cherry pies). I believe it’s full of apples, so that as soon as a devil fruit using target is neutralised, their fruit will reappear into the nearest fruit which would obviously be in the bag. We saw this in punk hazard.[IMG]Fairly straightforward. In order to steal devil fruits, Blackbeard Pirates galavant (in Burgess’ case, hunt) with a bag full of apples/some other fruit in order to capture devil fruits. This sparked something that I didn’t notice before… Doc Q was doing the same thing way before the timeskip, as he offered Luffy an apple and said he was ‘lucky’ because he chose a fruit that didn’t make him explode.

Why else would Doc Q, a member of the Blackbeard Pirates randomly have a basket full of apples? This may be his own tactic of stealing devil fruits as opposed to Burgess’ more animalistic manor. Anywho… What happens when a devil fruit user consumes another devil fruit? Yes, he/she explodes, and I think that is what Doc Q was referring to when he said Luffy was lucky not to explode.

Pretty simples, BB pirates have different methods of killing devil fruit users in order to steal their fruits via having a multitude of apples/other fruit in a nearby bag or basket. Anyway like I said I’m not sure if anyone noticed these Doc Q or Burgess details before so I thought I’d just leave this here.

SHANKS AND EUSTASS KID ARE INTENDED COUNTERPARTS

Let’s talk about Shanks, Kid and how I think Oda intended for them to be similar, yet polar opposites ideologically.
(This is not a theory about how they’re related by blood. This is a theory discussing their character design, ideologies and how it plays into the themes of One Piece).

-Starting with their appearance:
Things that are Similar:
They both have red hair (duh), they both are missing their left arms, and have scars over their left eyes.
Things that are Different: Kid dresses much flashier, as opposed to Shanks who dresses very simplistic (this becomes important when we get to the ideology).
[IMG] [IMG]

-Personalities:
Kid:
Arrogant, violent, savage, merciless, prideful and egotistical.
Shanks: Modest, tame, puts himself in danger for causes larger than himself, and doesn’t care for petty conflict.

-How this all Ties Together (The Ideology Part):
Kid and Shanks represent how two people who fall into similar positions can react to them in different ways. When Shanks is bullied by some bandits at a bar, he laughs it off. When Kid is mocked for wanting to find the One Piece, he kills them. Or when they both lose their arms, Kid replaces his with a mechanical arm, but Shanks leaves his as it is. This has to do with how Shanks is simplistic and naturalistic. Shanks is all about the human spirit and will power. He doesn’t use technology or devil fruits to gain an advantage, he uses his natural abilities as a human (Haki). Where as Kid uses technology and a devil fruit. I feel Shanks would view these things as unnecessary or as excessive; he goes as he is. This bit of philosophy becomes clearer by their clothing. Shanks’s simplistic vibe is expressed through his casual/rugged attire; with his baggy pants, untucked buttondown, and sandels. Kid’s flashy pants, vest and coat are polarizing to Shanks’s wardrobe.

The way they treat their enemies is another way their character philosophies differ. Shanks and his crew could have taken out those bandits in the bar, right then and there. But he chose to show some mercy and not induce violence over something as petty as spilled drinks and a little name calling. But when Kid travels to the New World and defeats Haritsu Kendiyo and his crew, (which, presumably for Shanks would have been enough), but Kid shows no mercy and kills them.

Shanks and Kid also seem to face some similar hardships and situations, but the way they react/handle/cope is opposite to each other. Now there are a lot of characters in One Piece that are opposites of each other. But the reason I think Oda intended for a special and specific connection between them is their physical appearances and interactions with Luffy. We already went over their looks, but just to recap, they obviously bear similar wounds to each other. Now, Luffy takes after Shanks (the way he handles people, his philosophies, his values, ext.) and Kid is supposed to be Luffy’s opposite/rival. We know this because Kid was the only supernova to have a higher bounty than Luffy, he was the only supernova whose vice captain/first mate also held a bounty high enough to be classified as a supernova, and Kid’s giant metal arm was a parallel to Luffy’s gear 3 pistol. So Kid is an opposite/rival to Luffy. The reason this supports the relation between Kid and Shanks is because, for the sake of the story, it’s important that Luffy would meet someone who bares similar pain/experiences as Shanks, but handled it in the opposite manner; representing what Luffy could have become if he didn’t follow Shanks’s way of life (Kinda like Naruto and Gaara).

Conclusion:
Oda intentionally wrote for Kid and Shanks to have some similar bad experiences to represent a theme about how having the right attitude can make all the difference in life. He purposefully modeled Kid to be noticeably (but not too obviously) similar to Shanks in appearance to create that parallel between the two characters.
