10 Things You Should Know About Enel

  • Enel is the only main antagonist who is neither a pirate nor affiliated with the World Government. Oda confirmed that if Enel were actually a wanted pirate, he might have a bounty that could possibly be as high as 500,000,000 Berries.

  • Although he is Birkan, Enel lacks the Birkan wings and instead has his ring of drums in the same place they would normally be.

  • Enel is the first major antagonist to use Haki.

  • Enel’s name contains “-el”, the name for general gods or Almighty God meaning “might, strength, or power”.

  • Enel is also the name of the main Italian electric company.

  • The symbols seen on Enel’s drums are called tomoe and are very common in Japanese heraldry such as family emblems and corporate logos. The tomoe are also present on another One Piece character, Sentomaru.

  • Enel’s belief that he is a god is also similar to the Celestial Dragons who see themselves as godlike.

  • Monkey D. Luffy being Enel’s natural enemy (due to his Devil Fruit immunity to Enel’s Goro Goro no Mi) is highly appropriate, as the Family of D. is referred to as “God’s Natural Enemy” and Enel believes himself to be a God.

  • According to Oda, if Enel was to take off his bandana, his hair would be styled in a perm.

  • In the sixth Japanese Fan Poll, Enel ranked 44th.

Is Kizaru hunting for Aokiji ? Did he find the connection between Nico Robin and Aokiji?

Akainu will give Kizaru an important case?

Kizaru is one of the Strongest Marines and characters we’ve seen so far in the whole series, it would be stupid if he was benched until Luffy decides to fight against Akainu and the Marines so I believe that Akainu already gave Kizaru a much more important case.

What’s the case? The capture of Ex-Admiral Aokiji

Aokiji is now allied with Yonko Blackbeard and Kizaru is the only one who personally knew Aokiji because they were both trained by Zephyr, they both served under Garp and Sengoku, became Vice Admirals, then became Admirals, so Kizaru is most likely pursuing Aokiji as we speak.

How will Kizaru find Aokiji?

Kizaru is cunning and smart so what will Kizaru do to gain Aokiji’s attention??

Nico Robin?

Aokiji’s true feelings towards Robin are unknown but Robin does not think of Aokiji as a threat now as he chose not to capture her on multiple occasions but it could be possible that Robin is the last remainder of Aokiji’s good friend Jaguar D. Saul and he was happy for her being with the Straw Hats.

Will Kizaru find out the Robin connection? Yes. Let’s look back at the Ohara incident 22 years ago.

Aokiji lets Robin live and nobody knew that Aokiji actually let her go but there could have been suspicions. And if you look at Aokiji’s track record they could find a link between Aokiji and Nico Robin.

Remember why Garp denied the position to be Admiral?

It’s freedom, so Aokiji went to the same place as Robin in two different occasions, both times he was alone and he was away from his subordinates; but with no freedom everywhere he goes could be recorded and it could overlap with Nico Robin’s locations.

Where do they get the idea?

Aokiji lets Robin escape (suspicion)

Aokiji beats the Straw Hats but he refuses to capture them (fact)

In both these cases Nico Robin escaped. Which could make Kizaru and the Marines believe that Aokiji did this on purpose in order to protect Robin for unknown reason.

Will Aokiji come to save Robin?

“It’s my duty to observe what you do with your life”

Aokiji will definitely save Robin as he said that is his duty to observe her so I guess that observing her die won’t be his plan.

Straw Hats could encounter Kizaru again?

Last time they would have died if it wasn’t for Kizaru but they’re stronger now… yes, but are they at that “Admiral” level?

Speculation

1) Kizaru learns that Aokiji saved Robin in Ohara 22 years ago and goes after Robin but he has to deal with Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hats.

2) Robin like Ace will be executed if caught as she is the last living member of Ohara so Robin’s execution will be announced and Kizaru could use this to lure Aokiji out.

3) Aokiji knowingly walks into a trap to save Robin but the Straw Hats won’t stand down if Kizaru takes one of their crewmates so they also joins Aokiji.

Aokji and the Straw Hats vs Kizaru and the Marines.

After saving Robin, Luffy declares War against the Marines and Akainu for Ace and Robin.

RAFTEL – THE PLACE’S TRUE IDENTITY!

Long story short: The Great Kingdom Is Raftel.

Explanation

Proof number one: When Luffy and Co entered the Grand Line they encountered Crocus which envisioned Raftel:

– The vision behind Crocus suggests that there was civilization there considering the island has what seemed to be windows, so it wasn’t uninhabited always. Anime’s ”clear” vision of the island:

Proof number two: During Skypiea, Roger left an engraved message on the golden bell that Robin later finds with the Skypieans and Shandia warriors. Robin comes to the conclusion that she has to physically travel to Raftel to get to the bottom of the Void Century:

(Sorry for not combining it to one picture, i’m stupid when it comes to this). We already know the Great Kingdom is related to the Void Century because it disappeared straight after.

Proof number three: During Robin’s past we find out that Clover and the rest of the archaeologist team learn about the Void Century to that point it frightens the government, we are told that the messages that are past on the poneglyphs are meant to be indestructible so that the World Government wouldn’t be able to destroy evidence of something they want to hide. During’s Clover envision we could see the Great Kingdom’s image clearly but he states that all information on that place has been erased to cover it up… As he was about to say that place’s current name he was shot dead because he knew too much.

Proof number four [the conclusive evidence]: During Zou, we learn about the Road Poneglyph which supposedly leads you to Raftel after you find four of them, the important thing that we learn from that though is the fact that the poneglyphs are 800 years old – So why would the road poneglyphs lead us to Raftel? That was way before Gol D Roger was born, way before the great pirate age had begun, why go through the trouble to pass down four indestructible stones that would lead us to an island where there is supposedly a big treasure that Roger had left? The only conclusive answer to this is non other then The Great Kingdom. The Void Centrury came to a close 800 years ago – It all connects, there’s absolutely no doubt about what Raftel is!

WHY DOES JUDGE HATE SANJI SO MUCH?

The denial of a rare power.

So as the heading suggests we will look into Judge’s hate towards Sanji and try to find a possible reason behind it.

What does Judge want most?
What we see from Sanji’s backstory and the current WCI ark we can recognize that Judge desires power most of anything – the power to rule over North blue.
So basically after Sanji did not develop any super human strengths he denied him the chance of a power increase. However, I think there is more to it.

But lets first start in a logical order that I think will be the easiest way to convince you in this theory.

So lets look of the Judge’s work. He is a scientist and from what we have seen about cloning and applying modifications he seems to be genetic engineer.
Quote from Wiki:
Genetic engineering, also called genetic modification, is the direct manipulation of an organism’s genome using biotechnology. It is a set of technologies used to change the genetic makeup of cells, including the transfer of genes within and across species boundaries to produce improved or novel organisms”

So in an experiment or research the engineer would pick two or more species and try to combine specific characteristics in one of the organisms. That would suggest that the engineer has in mind a clear picture or expectations on what the result should be.
So knowing that, it can be easily deducted that Judge had some specimens/objects in mind that he wants to combine and in that relation he should have pretty clear expectations on the results.

Taking the Vinsmoke siblings as an example they all seem to have two common features – hard exoskeleton and super strength – plus a specific unique characteristic for each of them.
These unique characteristics seems to be the base for their nick names related with colors:

  • Poison Pink
  • Sparkling Red
  • Electric Blue
  • Winch Green

So what I am trying to say is that Vinsmoke Judge knew what to expect from his kids since he knew what species he had crossed, BUT he didnt know who will develop each specification.

So after the kids were born and they started to show signs of their powers by the method of elimination Judge knew for sure which specific power is missing.

Having anticipated all the powers Judge probably had a power that he was looking forward to most. So is it possible that Sanji actually was the embryon which was supposed to have this mostly anticipated power?

Even after his researchers have told Judge that Sanji is nothing but human he seems like desperately mad of that fact. Even though he is a man of science he still goes to confront Sanji and scream at him that it is not an option for him to be a failure.

(Chapter 840)

After that when Judge had no option but to accept the reality provided by the data he went to such a length to even get a tear in his eye when the confirmation was endeviable.

The only other time when we saw Judge cry was when BM pirates were about to execute Vinsmokes and Judge realizing that his dream of ruling over North Blue is coming to an end.
Could this mean that Sanji failure was some what the end of one of Judges dreams to see that specific combination of powers that is missing from the list??? Could have this been the most promising combination that Judge was looking for???

Conclusion
So in my opinion Judge does not only hate Sanji because of his lack of superhuman trends but mostly because he denied him the specific power that Judge was looking forward to the most!

Speculation
And here it comes a bit of speculations :D

Funny enough all the Vinsmoke kids were given a color as a representation at some point of time probably by Judge. Even though Sanji was far away from that situation he ended up having a color in his name as well. Having in mind that Judge have connections in the government and he can manipulate wanted posters (switching Sanji’s poster to only alive) could he have a role in that name? The possibility is really low but it is interesting possibility :D

Anyway my point is that somehow Sanji got a color in his name and comparing the names of his siblings it looks like Sanji is missing an adjective for his color. Lets see what can we deduct.

So thinking about the statements from above that Judge could have been looking forward to this combination, the specific unique characteristic must be something rare.
Combining that it must be something rare and the constant comparison of Sanji being a demon, could his undeveloped powers be a related to a Demon?
So if I have to come up with a adjective for Sanji’s black color I can definitely see him as a “Demonic Black

The Ancient Kingdom

Dr Clover on the AK

According to him the AK was enormous but nothing remains of it. And the ancient weapons are a threat to the world but the history, ideas and existence of the AK are a greater threat to the government. So what does this mean?

Well first off we know Clover was wrong. Despite going to insane lengths to erase it quite a lot remains of the AK. Poneglyphs, the D clan, the AW’s, etc. However the government has committed mass genocide and wiped whole places off the map just because a handful of residents were studying the AK. The result being that whilst remnants of the AK remain very few people know it.

The point I’m making is there’s a difference between something really being gone and it still being there but no one knows it.

If the WG could entirely erase the AK it wouldn’t still be a threat to them and they wouldn’t be so afraid. The only reasonable explanation for their behaviour is the AK still exists and has a chance of deposing the WG and regaining power.

But we already know this

It’s quite clear the story is heading towards a huge war to overthrow the WG and Raftel, the Poneglyph’s, the AW’s and whatever the One Piece is are key to this war.

So why does the AK play such a big part in the story? One Piece could easily be a story about overthrowing an oppressive government with the history of the AK just emphasising how evil the WG is. What revelation does the Rio Poneglyph have that’s so shocking it’ll spark a massive war? I mean we already know how the WG was created. We know the WG and the AK had a huge war and the WG annihilated the AK to become rulers of the world. We also already know the horrific things the government and Celestial Dragons get up to. So if that’s not the True History what is?

Well, I’ve already posted a theory that the WG artificially created the Grand Line and the Red Line to divide the world and make it easier to rule. But I think it’s more than that. To put it simply I think the Ancient Kingdom, the biggest, most powerful kingdom in the world, was the Sea. Stay with me, I’ll explain =)

As you can see in Whitebeard’s speech above he says finding the One Piece will turn the whole world upside down. I know what the phrase means but for thoroughness’ sake I googled it and it says it means to disorder and invert something. And the world couldn’t get more inverted than if people lived on the sea instead of land. Or if the people now considered dangerous criminals and enemies of the world became heroes and leaders. AKA the pirates who live on the sea.

Also 2 out of 3 known AW’s are related to the ocean. Shirahoshi and her seakings and Pluton the most powerful warship. If the people of the AK were sea dwellers then it makes sense their weapons are sea orientated.

If we assume my theory about creating the Grand Line and Red Line is correct then before they were created the sea would have been easy to travel and nowhere would be out of reach. Trade throughout the world would have been easier and everyone would have been more free. Now it’s much harder to visit one blue from another and it’s all highly regulated. Not to mention their leaders are horribly cruel and have in their possesion something which frightens the WG enough to send 3 admirals and heaps of marines at their slightest insult just to keep them happy. I think it’s the thing they used to reshape the world.

Another thing that make me think the AK was the Sea is the Tequila Wolf bridge Kuma transported Robin to.
I think the World Nobles believe if they connect the Islands together by bridges that will further diminish people’s dependency on the Sea. Admittedly 700 years per bridge is really slow going. I have another idea of what the bridge could be but it’s not relevant here.

A lot of people think Raftel is part of the AK. I think this true but I think it’s like the Air Nomads in the Last Airbender. They travel all the time in the air on their Sky Bisons but they have 4 temples as their home base. I think Raftel could have been the AK’s home base but they spent most of their time on the Sea.

Lastly, from memory because I can’t find the page, during a coversation between Luffy and Enel Luffy told Enel he can keep the land because he wants to rule the Sea. Or something like that. I think it was when Enel said he wanted to go to the moon because it was a land made completely of dirt and the Skypeans valued dirt highly because it was so rare in the sky. This was the first time I thought of the Sea as a place that could be inhabitated and ruled. Though my thought that it could be the AK didn’t come til recently.

Well, that’s it. I hope you enjoyed and it doesn’t sound too farfetched.

Sanji + Armament Haki = “Black Leg” Sanji

Quick Summary:

As the end of the Whole Cake Island arc draws closer to its conclusion, many people wonder if Sanji will get a 1v1 and a chance to prove himself as a fighter at all. While there have been many predictions and theories into a potential power up for the cook, I feel that one obvious possibly isn’t being discussed. I suspect that by the end of the arc, Sanji will face off against Ichiji (see Joy_Boy Theories video on this) defeating him using a black-clad form of armament haki. In short:

Sanji + Armament Haki = Black Leg Sanji

So, what evidence do I have to support this?

WARNING: THIS POST WILL BE CONSIDERABLY LONG!

Full Theory:

Throughout Whole Cake Island, all of Sanji’s losses have been open to question. I believe he CHOSE to lose all of these fights. In his battle against Judge, Sanji appears to be outclassing and surprising his father throughout the fight. Only by using cheap and dirty tactics is his father able to get the upper hand on Sanji. We even see Sanji express concern for the wellbeing of the Germa soldiers used by judge.

After being hit by Judge’s sneak attack, we see a panel of Sanji expressing a contemplative look on his face. His mouth is shut (unusual for someone who was just struck) his eyes hidden behind his hair (typical in shonen when a character is acting or hiding something). In the very next panel, we pan to the Germa soldier, as if in direct reference to who Sanji is thinking of.

I suspect that Sanji chose to take a dive in the fight against Judge in order to save the Germa soldiers that likely would have been sacrificed had the fight continued. A similar hostage situation occurs in his “loss” to Niji, threatening Owner Zeff’s life should he fight back. As Reiju has said, Sanji is just too kind.

The only person who has fought an unrestrained Sanji is Yonji, and that was done off screen. However, I think Oda has given us enough clues to point to how Sanji was able to best his brother.

Whatever kicking technique he used, it was clearly strong enough to dent his brother’s head. When angrily attacking Niji, we see the other brothers’ reactions. Ichiji is calm, while Yonji is clearly alarmed, possibly nervous (you can see him sweating). This is because Yonji is the only one who knows what Sanji is actually capable of, and he’s scared of the idea that things won’t be as they have always been.

So what? Sanji’s strong, we get it. How does this indicate that Sanji can use black armament haki? In the arch, Oda first starts alluding to it during Sanji’s fight against his father.

While not cannon, the anime chose to include an interesting quote from Reiju during this fight (anime episode 793). Despite being able to block Judge’s spear with his leg, “It seems like he’s taken some damage though.”

This remark is somewhat reminiscent of when Vergo managed to crack Sanji’s leg in Punk Hazard. Sanji notes that “This guy’s like a mass of iron or something.” I’m not going to go into detail about the iron-iron fruit theory (as many have) but I am of the opinion that he is an “iron-man.” At the very least, Vergo’s very hard.

Reiju’s comment alludes to the fact that had Sanji used a stronger form of haki (in either situation) he would have avoided injury. The outcome of Sanji’s fight with Yonji was entirely different. He managed to kick his head in with such force that he needed machines to smash it back into place.

How was it that Sanji was able to severely dent his brother’s body while not being able to do the same or at least damage Vergo (someone who does NOT possess a genetically modified body w/ a durable outer skeleton)?

It’s evident to me that he used the black color of arms to do this, which is why it was off-screen. Oda wishes to save the reveal until his final fight of the arc. This is further supported when Sanji lands a clean kick to the face against Niji. They both have the same outer skeleton. Despite being angry at Niji, did he simply choose to kick Yonji harder (despite having not attacked a woman and further provoking Sanji)? No, he kicked as he normally would, but he simply didn’t use haki.

Some may argue that if Sanji was capable of this already, why didn’t he use this against Vergo? Sanji likes to fight smart and use his head, figuring out what his opponent can do before revealing what he is capable of. However, he didn’t expect Vergo to start using haki so abruptly, which is why he was taken off guard. Even after the fracture, he is able to keep kicking with the same leg, showing that he adjusted to match Vergo. And once again, the fight was cut short by the poison gas before we got a chance to see what Sanji would pull out next.

The most persuasive and obvious piece of evidence for this is his nickname, “Black Leg” Sanji. The name is in reference to both his fighting style and his mentor, Red Leg Zeff. While yes, the name initially seemed to suit him due to his attire, but the name now has other implications. The nickname refers to his kicking technique, the way in which he fights. Don Krieg foreshadows this when referring to Zeff’s former skill and notoriety (manga Ch. 48).

Zeff’s nickname comes from the fact that he kicked in such a way that his boots were always stained in blood, hence were always red. As master and student, their techniques are certainly similar. However, Sanji will gain his reputation from his own unique style. Instead of blood, Sanji’s Leg’s will be “died” black with haki.

In conclusion, I personally think most fans are trying too hard when thinking of potential power ups for the cook (genetics, etc). We haven’t seen him use a visible, black-clad form of armament haki yet. While I’m not ruling out other theories as to future powers that may present themselves in following arks, I think this is what’s coming next!

A PROMISE BETWEEN FRIENDS – LUFFY PLANS TO MEET THEM AGAIN

Luffy has had his fair share of separations over the course of his adventures. On every single island or country he’s visited, Luffy has made friends, enemies, and the occasional enemy-turned-friend, and in many of those cases, said friends have promised to meet up with Luffy again somewhere down the line in his quest.

One of the most prominent examples of this is Jinbe, whom Luffy invited to join his crew at the end of the Fishman Island arc, only for Jinbe to decline.

Despite his refusal, Jinbe still promised to rejoin Luffy at a later time, maintaining the close ties of friendship they had forged along the way.

Where we are now in the story, Jinbe has all but officially joined the Straw Hats, so for all intents and purposes most people consider him a Straw Hat already. I believe that the delay between Jinbe’s invitation and his acceptance of joining the crew set a bit of a precedent for the remainder of the recruits for this sea: all of them will either have a delay period between invitation and acceptance or they will all be people Luffy has met in earlier seas whom he has promised to meet again in the New World.

If the former is the case, then the potential recruits may well be people we haven’t met yet. If it’s the latter, however, I have compiled a quick list of possible candidates that match all of the criteria of being on friendly terms with Luffy and promising to meet him again.

For the sake of maintaining a sense of momentum, I’ll start from my weakest candidate and move on up from there. Fortunately for me, the presence of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet gives me a bit of a back-up plan for most of these if I’m wrong about them joining the crew proper.

Our first candidate is Lola, who Luffy and the crew met back in Thriller Bark. After saving Lola and hers from Gecko Moria, the Straw Hats form a close bond with them and promise to meet up with them again one day.

I don’t find Lola a particularly viable option for joining the Straw Hats proper, as a) she is the captain of her own crew who she likely wouldn’t want to leave, b) her promise to meet again isn’t presented with much gravitas and thus doesn’t seem like it’s meant to foreshadow a dramatic reunion, and c) her adventure is taking her in the complete opposite direction, so it’s unlikely that they’ll meet in circumstances that would facilitate her joining. Instead, she may be likely to become a member of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet, or may even serve as foreshadowing of Pudding joining the crew/Grand Fleet. Still, this is pretty flimsy conjecture, hence she is my first example.

Second is Gin of the Krieg Pirates, fought all the way back on the Baratie in East Blue. After Luffy defeated Don Krieg, his attitude rubbed off on Gin and gave him a new lease on life. As Gin forces Krieg to retreat, he leaves Sanji with a message for Luffy: to meet again on the Grand Line.

Gin is also a fairly weak example, as Gin’s character is more heavily focused on his relationship with Sanji than with Luffy, and also the distinct possibility that he died within a day of saying this. Still, that one’s a much stronger promise than the one with Lola, as it was given very specific focus and clearly is meant to build to something later on. I don’t really see Gin joining the crew, but I definitely could see him being an ally, possibly even becoming a Fleet Commander. It’s not too much of a stretch to imagine that he’s been improving over the years, and he’s probably about on par with the rest of Luffy’s Commanders by now. Either way, his involvement in the Baratie arc doesn’t really give the impression that he’s Straw Hat material.

Third is Shirahoshi, the princess of Fishman Island who was imprisoned in her own palace for protection until Luffy won her freedom into the outside world. As Luffy departs from Fishman Island, Shirahoshi asks him to return and show her even more of the world.

This scene is given the kind of attention that just screams foreshadowing, so we can say pretty definitively that Luffy and Shirahoshi are going to meet again, and even the promise itself, to take her above the waves, would be fulfilled quite nicely with her on the crew proper. However, Shirahoshi is no fighter, and while her ability as Poseidon to control the Sea Kings is incredibly powerful, its use is also rather limited to the sea. I have no doubt that Luffy will need Shirahoshi’s power somewhere along the way to finding One Piece, but probably not as a pirate. Still, if she were to join, her role on the crew seems pretty clear; controlling the Sea Kings to act as guides.

Fourth is Boa Hancock, the Pirate Empress who is infatuated with Luffy. After Luffy spent two years training on Rusukaina, Hancock delivers him to Sabaody Archipelago to meet back up with his crew. As they depart, Hancock asks Luffy not to say “farewell,” and Luffy replies that he has every intention on seeing her again.

Again, the scene isn’t made a huge spectacle of, and it isn’t even totally clear who is saying “we will meet again.” It’s a pretty safe bet to say that it’s Hancock, who would definitely serve as a powerful addition to the Straw Hats, but the way it’s framed it seems more like it’s saying that Luffy will meet the Kuja Pirates as a whole again. Also, as I said with Lola, Hancock has her own crew, and more than that, she has her own kingdom to take care of. Sure, she could name someone as her successor and leave, but she doesn’t seem likely to do that given her pride and skill as a leader. She seems much more likely to become a Fleet Commander, and this scene may also serve as foreshadowing for another Kuja joining (possibly Marguerite).

Fifth is Bentham, or Mr. 2 Bon Clay, Luffy’s enemy-turned-friend who has sacrificed himself to help Luffy escape danger twice now, and seems fairly likely to do so again. The second time, at Impel Down, he seemed confident that his life was going to end, and swore to see Luffy again in the afterlife.

Of course, Bentham did not die, so his promise for a reunion will need to be fulfilled on Earth, not Heaven. Being a close friend to Luffy with no current affiliations with any other crews, Bentham seems like a fairly strong candidate for a new crewmate. The only problem is that he uses a mostly kick-based fighting style, making him a bit too similar to Sanji. Still, if the crew can have two swordsmen with possibly more to come, there shouldn’t be too much of an issue with having multiple kick-fighters.

Not only that, Bentham has even demonstrated in the past that he could take on the role of either a guard for the ship or a decoy as he has already done multiple times. And again, even if he doesn’t join because he’s too similar to Sanji, there’s absolutely nothing preventing him from forming a new crew and becoming a Fleet Commander.

The main problem with Bentham is that while his scene got more than enough attention, he didn’t make a promise with Luffy directly, and as far as Luffy knows Bentham is dead. Still, I don’t see Oda allowing Luffy to think that forever, so I have no doubt that no matter what comes of it, a reunion is just about guaranteed.

This brings us to our sixth and strongest candidate (whom you all likely saw coming), Vivi, princess of Alabasta and former temporary Straw Hat member. After Luffy saved Alabasta, he invited Vivi to join his crew (much he did with Jinbe), only for her to refuse due to personal matters (much like Jinbe did), and then ask to remain their friend should they ever meet again (also much like Jinbe did).

Unlike everyone else on this list with vague similarities to Jinbe’s recruitment, Vivi followed the formula almost to a T; fighting alongside Luffy, being invited, declining, and asking to meet again.

Vivi has also demonstrated her value as a crewmate, serving as a negotiator on at least one occasion, convincing Luffy to let her reason with the people of Drum Island to get a doctor for Nami.

Vivi already has a strong personal connection with Luffy, much like Jinbe did, having earned his trust enough to be able to sway his decisions at critical moments. If she decided she wanted to come back, Luffy wouldn’t even miss a beat and would say that she’s always been a member of the crew. In fact, as many of you know, Vivi is already considered the unofficial Straw Hat 5.5 by Oda, so if circumstances allow it, I see no issue with him allowing to become the official Straw Hat 11.

The 12th Nakama Theory

First of all I would like to say that i support the theory there will be 13 strawhats. 4 recruits from each sea.
Since I support the theory that Oda played with words to foreshadow the number of nakama. Mugiwara no ichimi.

  • Ichi=1
  • Mi=3

Bare in mind that I dont like Carrot and I don’t want Carrot to join and I’d prefered Pedro.

I would like to take a look at the chapter 861 cover page and support the theory that they represent the SHs.

I think that the 4 whiskerless cats represent that there will be 4 females.

  • The black with an umbrella is Robin, always chilling and reading. Her clothing were always monochrome pretime skip.
  • The cat behind the cat peeking, at bottim right, would be Pudding. Her forehead is covered with dark fur like her, who had to grow her hair to cover her 3rd eye.
  • The cat at bottom left licking her paw and cleaning itself is Nami since we always see her taking showers. We can also see Sanji n Brook on the right, the Peeking in Shower buddies…
  • The Cat climbing/ hanging on the edge would be Carrot. Because it could represent her sneaking onto the ship.

Many people have been thinking that it might be Pedro. I don’t. I think it looking like Pedro is to show us Carrot’s connection to the mink…

Now look at the following cover

I think it’s a foreshadow of Pedro sacrificing himself for the SHs. Since Carrot is the only one that didnt lose anybody, and minks tend to be very close and loyal. I could see this happening for the character development of Carrot.

I would like Pedro to join but I feel like his time is done. He doesnt have any dream whereas Carrot has one. He was also willing to put his life on the line by acting as a decoy, which imo is a deathflag and foreshadow that he may again do something similar.

Chapter 849, Pedro also said that he had no intention of going back…

Pedro is also not afraid to put his life on the line for the SHs coz he thinks they will surpass him… He said that he had no intention of dying until the SHs achieved their goals on the island… The goals of the SHs is kinda done ie:

  • Retrieving Sanji
  • Getting the poneglyph rubbings

Thanks for your time, hope it was a good read.

Franky – How powerful is he after the time skip?

This post is dedicated to our favorite One Piece CyborgFranky(pun intended :P). All the Straw Hats returned from the timeskip with interesting new abilities and Franky is no exception. The important question is, just how more powerful has he become after the time skipBut first, lets recap some of the most important parts of his past.

Franky’s past

When the Straw Hats met Franky, he was leading an organization of ship dismantlers, named the Franky Family(after their leader of course :P). Iron Man Franky(that’s what Ceaser called him) comes from the poor South Blue, but the Straw Hats met him at Water 7.

His real name is Cutty Flam, but he was forced to conceal his true identity by Iceburg. Remember Iceburg? He was the president of the Galley-La company, the mayor of Water 7 and a fellow apprentice of Tom. That’s why Franky chose to go with his nickname.

The dream of the Thousand Sunny

Franky’s parents were pirates and they threw him out of their ship and into the ocean when he was little. Tom was the man who rescued him and took him in as his apprentice. Tom was the legendary shipwright who built Gol D Roger’s ship, the Oro Jackson. For that feat, Tom became a criminal due to his affiliation with the Pirate King.

Tom was the man who taught Franky how to build ships. When Franky was young, he spent his time building warships able to defeat the Sea Kings. That’s when his aspiration began, to build his dream ship and also sail as a member of its crew.

Pluton and the Franky Family

Tom decided to build the train Puffing Tom for the World Government, in order to be pardoned for his affiliation with Roger. He was able to accomplish the feat, but he was framed by Spandam. Spandam attacked Water 7 with the Battle Frankys and made it seem like Tom did, when he and his workers where protecting the city.

Tom was sentenced to death. Franky tried to stop the Puffing Tom that was transporting him, which resulted in him getting badly injured and being perceived to be dead. He was actually on the verge of death. However, he was ultimately able to survive by “fixing” himself with parts from an abandoned ship, becoming himself the 36th Battle Franky. That’s where the BF36 tattoo comes from.

After four years he went back to see Iceburg, and was amazed that he allied himself with the World Government. However, Iceburg gave Franky the blueprints for Pluton, the legendary Ancient Weapon. Those exact blueprints were passed down to Tom from the Water 7 shipwrights. Iceburg wanted to make sure that the blueprints wouldn’t fall on the hands of the World Government, that’s why he gave them to Franky.

Franky couldn’t forgive himself for what happened to Tom. He wanted to atone by controlling the crime scene of Water 7. So, he decided to become the leader of the Water 7 underworld! He had his immoral moments, but his unltimate purpocs was to protect Water 7, the city Tom adored and did everything to protect.

Franky and the Straw Hats

Franky along with his followers, the Franky Family were enemies of the Straw Hats to start with. They were forced to collaborate though, due to having common enemies. The Franky Family wanted Franky to join the Straw Hat crew, when he was rejecting the idea, because they wanted to see him pursue and fulfill his dream. What dream? But of course building the Thousand Sunny and navigating the seas with it.

How powerful is Franky post timeskip?

Franky spent the timeskip studying Vegapunk’s blueprints, in order to reconfigure his body and add new functions to it. He can even change his hairstyle now, by pushing his nose for some seconds :D. Some stiches that have appeared on his body, indicate that he probably sew his skin back on.

In general, it seems his whole body underneath is robotic, with many different tools and weapons available. However, it seems that he has tried a lot to make the body’s appearance seem somewhat human. The skin, the hair on his robotic arms and eyes that resemble real ones hover above his robotic lenses. His tattoo has also changed, now being BF37, introducing himself as the new Battle Franky 37.

Shipwright and engineer

Franky is a highly talented shipwright. On top of that, he seems to be competent at surgery, as he essentialy saved himself by operating on his body, while on the verge of death.

His abilities don’t stop at ship building and engineering. He’s a really strong member of the Straw Hats, with exceptional physical strength. Now, with his newly modified robotic body and the weapons he can wield, his abilities have certainly sky rocketed.

He now has more cola available in his body, which lets him last longer in fights. During the time skip, he even went on to build the Battle Franky 38, the Franky Shogun. It is an enormous robot he can operate, a one-man weapon/vehicle in essence.

Crazy theories

I will end this with some crazy theories regarding Franky. Remember Avalo Pizzaro, the member of Blackbeard’screw? The man seems like a cyborg due to his weird hands. As a result, many have speculated that he may be related to Franky. Maybe his father or something, who knows. I highly doubt it though.

The other theory that i found interesting is related to Jewelry Bonney. The real life pirates Bonney and Calico, had a son who they abandoned when he was young. Also, Bonney has the age altering fruit of hers, so she could be really old. As well as that, there was an old crew member of Brook called Calico. What if they were Franky’s parents and abandoned him?
