MONKEY D. DRAGON, HIS FRUIT IS…?

Dragon is most likely an Air Logia or Air Paramecia (possesses the ability to manipulate air, but not turn into it like would be the case with a Logia) because a lot of his current feats are possible if one is able to manipulate the wind which is fundamentally air. If we observe the scenes he’s been in, we can conclude that he’s very like an Air Paramecia as he’s never been shown transforming into Air, but rather, just controlling it.

Logue Town Phenomenon

Luffy was about to be executed and while this execution was about to be concluded, Nami who was on her way to the execution platform realised that the air pressure was going down and said a storm was coming.

Smoker witnessed the entire dramatic execution play out and he said it looked like he knew he was going to be saved, but we know that wasn’t the case; perhaps, this is a foreshadowing of someone coming to save Luffy which did happen.

While a lot of coincidences are transpiring (such as the air pressure dropping), someone makes an entrance which is hinted at by the use of the “narrator’s dialogue box” before and after Luffy’s execution.

The next time we see the “narrator’s dialogue box” again, it’s continueing where it left off; Dragon is in the cut which implies that Dragon was in the vicinity when Luffy was bound to the execution platform which is when the first narrative box appears.

Something to notice is that there’s a flash present while Dragon is walking towards the execution platform or Luffy; the flash is indicative of the ligthening.

That flash I believe is the moment this happens.

The timing of everything is somewhat indicative that Dragon was indeed responsible for that lightening strike because it was convenient, and it could also be indicative that Dragon’s power is indeed the power to manipulate the air.

Lightening

Air pressure plays a huge role in the formation of storms and lightening. Lightening needs a cloud to in order to be made:

  1. The ground is heated up.
  2. The heated up ground begins to heat up the air, this warms the air up.
  3. The warm air begins to rise up towards the cloud.
  4. As the air rises, water vapour cools and forms a cloud.
  5. The cloud begins to expand and grow bigger as more water vapour is formed.
  6. The top of the cloud is below freezing temperature.
  7. The rising water vapour turns into ice and a thunder cloud is formed.
  8. The tiny bits of ice collide with each other and builds up electrical charge.
  9. This process eventually results in lightening being produced.

TL;DR: The ability to manipulate air allows one to freely produce lightening just like Nami does.

Back To Logue Town & Dragon

If we remember as stated earlier by Nami, the air pressure was dropping “coincidentally” when Dragon arrived at Logue Town.

What really takes the cake with this postulation is that when Luffy is saved, he’s saved by a gust of wind by Dragon; this implies he is indeed an Air Logia or Air Paramecia (possesses the ability to manipulate air, but not turn into it like would be the case with a Logia).

Evidently, Dragon was the one responsible for this gust of wind and more so is the case, because Smoker says why did you help him escape? And at the same time, Dragon’s arms are out in the same direction that this gust was going in.

Based on Logue Town, one can conclude that Dragon has an ability to do with the manipulation of air.

Goa Kingdom

Goa Kingdom is on fire thanks to Bluejam following orders of the Nobles to burn up the refuse dump regardless of people habitating it. The fire is widely spread and suddenly, a huge gust of wind creates a path clearing distinguishing the fire.

Who is coincidentally at the end of this open path created by wind? Noneother than Dragon himself.

It seems wherever Dragon is at, expect a reference to wind or a gust of wind.

Dragon saving Sabo

Dragon is literally in mid air or standing on the sea actually standing on land as revealed by the Anime, so it seems he’s not actually floating.

[IMG] [IMG]

If we look at this scene, Dragon was in the middle of the sea with Sabo and now he’s appears on the RA ship; it implies Dragon has the ability to fly despite not turning into air or any form of animal.

Bonus information: Oda tells us the Anime pertaining to Sabo’s life is Canon; Sabo attacks Dragon, Dragon evades it – Logias do not need to dodge.

Dragon can’t be a Zoan

Some would like to believe that Dragon is a Dragon Zoan, but if he were a Dragon Zoan, how did he fly to the RA vessel without revealing any wings? Even Marco can’t fly without the wings of his Phoenix ability. This means that Dragon is highly unlikely to be a Dragon Zoan.

Based on all the evidence thus far, it seems to be strongly the case that Dragon is indeed an Air controlling Paramecia.

The “Will of D” (Open to read more…)

willofd

In the series, a number of characters have the middle initial “D.”. This mysterious middle initial has been called the “Will of D” or “D’s will” by several characters in One Piece.

It is not clear what the significance of the shared middle initial is, but it appears that all share a similar faith in their own (and others’) dreams and/or destiny. Whenever a D. appears, a series of massive events can occur in the One Piece world particularly when they get involved directly, this has included the start of a new era, a war and many change of governments.

The biggest mystery with the D’s is that most of those who carry the D. themselves do not fully know what it means either. Jaguar D. Saul displayed an absence of knowledge on the subject of the D. when Nico Robin asked him what it meant. When she asked Monkey D. Luffy why those that carry the D. fight, he was also completely clueless as to what she was talking about. However, it seems that the Marines are somewhat aware of the D’s as Sengoku showed interest in Ace because of it. Donquixote Rosinante also seemed to have an idea about it, and was horrified when he found out that one, Trafalgar Law, had been so close to Donquixote Doflamingo, even warning him to run away.

Gol D. Roger also displayed a knowledge of it in a dialogue between him and Whitebeard. He begins “Long ago far far away” but it is cutoff before he can finish. Trafalgar Law’s parents also seemed to have some knowledge about what D. meant, considering that though they passed down the middle initial to their children, they hid it and insisted that they only use their given and surnames. Roger is the first and currently only known person in the storyline to have discovered what it means to be a D. himself, with it currently being unknown if Law’s parents discovered it, or if it was simply passed down knowledge.

Furthermore, they seem to be able to withstand incredible punishment in battle and only surrender to death when they know there truly is no way of avoiding it. An odd trait of the D’s is related to this. Often they are seen laughing or smiling greatly when they are about to die, as if they seem to accept their death when they cannot escape it and display no apparent fear toward death. The reactions of many characters who witness this is often shock or disbelief because it is hard to imagine anyone not being afraid of dying at all.

So far this strange habit has been shown 5 times:

1-Witnesses claim Gol D. Roger died smiling during his execution

2-22 years later one of those witnesses, Smoker also witnessed Luffy smiling in the same manner as Gol D. Roger when Buggy was about to kill him

3-Nico Robin also witnessed Saul laughing and smiling as he was frozen to death

4-Portgas D. Rouge is seen both crying and smiling during the naming of Ace right before her death as a result of the childbirth

5-Portgas D. Ace was smiling after he thanked everyone for loving him right before his death
